One of my desires in life is to produce photographic work worthy of publishing by the likes of the Guardian. Well, today I kind of achieved that aim, albeit in a very round-about way and certainly not as what you might class as a professional photographer, but nonetheless, some of my photos have appeared under the Guardian banner.
Back in June I wrote about how the Guardian had started a camera club using a Flickr group as the basis, setting monthly assignments for members to undertake. July’s assignment was portraiture preserving anonymity, for which I submitted a selection of images I captured purely for the purpose of this assignment. I was very pleased to notice today my collection featured on the Guardian’s site along with a small critique by one of the photo editors. It’s really encouraging when something like this happens and I’ll be sure to continuing submitting work for future monthly assignments to try and get further feedback and exposure.

Congratulations! Very cool to get feedback from the pros. Now I’m really inspired.
